History: Arachne Yarns and More began several years ago, but opened up at the current location in October 2017. I have been working with wool for the past 25 years. I raised my own fiber animals until a few years ago. I am a knitter, weaver, spinner, and felter and enjoy exploring new techniques with wool. One goal of the business is to promote fiber art in the community through working with and teaching others.
What they carry: Arachne Yarns and More offers handspun yarns, handwoven clothing, and other handmade items. You will find unique handmade gift ideas as well. I carry books as well as supplies for knitting and felting. Classes are offered in weaving, spinning, knitting, crochet, needle felting and more. I encourage anyone interested in learning about the many ways to work with wool and yarns to stop in and ask about classes. Help with a project you are working on is also available. Coffee is on and anyone is welcome to come in, visit, sit and knit a bit.
What do you enjoy about Ortonville? I love the lay of the land and the people. I have been here roughly ten years and made some very good friends. I am amazed at the number of talented people I have met in the area. It seems there is always something interesting to do.
